the Hurting - Philippi Trust Namibia reaches out to those in our nation
and elsewhere who are in need of hope and healing. Whether you need
counselling, psycho-social support or training in counselling, to enable
you to help restore your personal peace as well as the peace of people
around you who have lost peace with themselves, with others and with
God... Philippi can provide guidance and resources to assist you on this
journey.
We also make a passionate plea to those who share our Christian belief
and are willing to support the restoration work we do to join us on this
journey of dealing with a society in crisis.
Philippi aims to serve all people irrespective of social status,
geographical location, political and religious convictions.
Mission
Philippi Trust Namibia
is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that strives to provide a
professional level of and training to the Church and community in
Namibia.
Vision
Through the provision of
Counselling and Counselling Training, based on Christian principles, we
aim to give the people of Namibia all the psycho-social resources they
require, to make healthy and informed choices which will enable them to
determine their own destiny in a self-reliant manner.
Origins
Philippi Trust was
founded in 1989 in the United Kingdom and has since developed rapidly to
become one of the leading providers of Christian counselling and
training both in that country and abroad. Its founder, now retired,
Reverend Malcolm Worsley C.Q.S.W, a trained Social Worker has over a
decade of experience as a probation officer.
Philippi Trust Namibia
was established in 1996 and registered as a charity organisation in 1999
and as a Trust in 2004. At Philippi Trust Namibia we offer training and
counselling throughout Namibia, regardless of social, political,
geographical or religious status. Philippi Trust is affiliated to the
Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC), United Kingdom.
The founder of the local
Chapter, Marianne E Olivier, a Namibian by birth served in evangelical
missions training and mentoring prior to becoming involved in
counselling. Marianne studied counselling with Youth with a Mission (YWAM),
United Kingdom, and was accredited as counsellor by ACC United Kingdom.
She has since practised with Philippi in the United Kingdom before
pioneering Philippi Trust Namibia. Over the past decade Marianne has
laid the foundations for Philippi in Namibia and has been instrumental
in developing training and counselling throughout the country as well as
in the Western Cape , South Africa . Her particular field of interest
has been in Addictions, Sexual Abuse, HIV/AIDS and Counselling practise.
Marianne is currently studying towards a BA Development Studies with
specialisation in Community Development with the University of South
Africa (UNISA).

International Affiliation
The Philippi Trust is an
international Counselling organisation currently working in the United
Kingdom (including Northern Ireland), Germany, Belgium, Namibia and
South Africa.
